Staff Anniversaries - January 2023
The library would be nowhere without it's staff. Throughout the year, we'd like to celebrate our amazing staff by recognizing them in their anniversary month. This month marks the anniversaries of Karen, Alana, and Martha. If you see them in the library, give them a quick thank you for all their hard work!

Title: Branch Manager
Favorite part of the job: I love my job! I enjoy visiting with our patrons and assisting them in finding just the right selection be it book, DVD, or audio.
Current/Recent Reads: I am currently reading a book titled The Measure by Nikki Erlick. It is thought provoking would be a great book for any book club to promote discussion. I just finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Everyone has a secret in their past and this book tells the tale of how one Hollywood starlet kept her secret.
Alana

Title: Teen Librarian
Favorite part of the job: Seeing teens excited about materials/programming/just being in the library with friends
Currently watching: Yellowstone/What We Do in the Shadows
Martha
Ida Rupp Public Library, 3 years
Job title: Adult Librarian [which is normal terminology in the library profession, but can raise an eyebrow, because we don’t use Child Librarian for kids’ books; but Adult’s Librarian doesn’t sound right, like Children’s Librarian does. I see this as another peculiarity of the English language, not of librarians.]
Favorite part of my job: finding new fiction and nonfiction titles for ordering. There are so many interesting things published each month; of course, there are also literally thousands of titles to wade through looking for the most interesting and well-written ones, which sort of makes this also my “not favorite” part of the job…
Currently reading: On Spine of Death by Tamara Berry It’s the 2nd title in a new mystery series, after Buried in a Good Book, which really started with a BANG. But by the time you’re reading this, I’ll be reading something else
